This was already the 5th tournament since we began nearly a year ago. We are thrilled to see so many competitors returning time and time again, and it’s fantastic to welcome the new players joining our ranks. We kicked off the day with 30 participants, all enthusiastic to seize the top spot and secure their ticket to the European Championship. We also had a great announcement that we’ll be expanding with a new tournament in Tiel on the 7th of July!
Stella Lee, Wild Card, is a newly released commander, having debuted just over a month ago. In just under an hour, Jan already secured the first victory of the day with Stella. By the end of the day, Jan showcased Stella‘s incredible speed, tying for the fastest win with Mike’s Najeela. Both three-drop commanders each grabbed the quickest victories in less than 25 minutes.
Heading into the final Swiss round, Mike from Belgium led with 11 points. Many players were still battling for a spot in the top 4, making this round particularly exciting. After a long game, Job, playing Marneus Calgar, secured the highest rank in the Swiss. Emil traveled all the way from Germany to demonstrate the power of Rog/Si, earning the 3rd seat. The final spot went to Ruben, our three-time finalist and LTDs2 champion, who also played Marneus.

Job had a very strong opening, quickly dropping Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and Talion. Mike opted for an early Najeela, starting the combat clock on the table. Rog/Si faced a tough spot when their Rhystic Study was countered. Ruben utilized a Orcish Bowmasters and Opposition Agent to prevent Job from getting out of hand. However, when the Opposition Agent revealed his hand, Job was just one mana away from a Thassa's Oracle win. Meanwhile, Najeela stayed in the shadows, dodging Bowmasters triggers.
In a desperate move to survive a lethal orc army, Job casted Swords to Plowshares, but a Daze from Rog/Si sealed Job’s fate. However, the battle was too costly; Najeela jumped from the shadows, and with Derevi on the board, Mike wiped the table to become our new Lucky Top Deck champion!
Lucky Top Deck Series 5 was full of exciting games and new memorable moments. It was a day of fierce competition and fun and we played untill the shop closed.
